TOUR DIARY – 45 - 22.7.11 All you need is love, - life according to John Lennon – Wowing the Harvard crowd – Boston library – synchronicity at work..
We stayed on specifically in Newport because there was going to be an exhibition of The Artwork of John Lennon.. it was a Yoko tribute to Johns 70th year if he had lived.
I expected the place to be mobbed but it was a very quiet kind of exhibit and not particularly busy.
Steve and I both love John Lennon, me more so in later years, I was always a Paul fan and then George, I tended to find John too acerbic, but as the years went on I have come to so greatly admire the man and his philosophy for trying to make a difference in the world generally but particularly about the subject of Wars. The work itself was a very mixed bag, some I loved …especially the collection he drew for his son Sean. He would spend time with him drawing him a picture and then using the picture to explain to Sean his philosophy of life. I did not care for the erotic sketches, mainly because I felt they were poor in rendition, but was amazed at what problems there were about them at the time they were shown in the 60’s I think. The pictures were ‘arrested’ in London and a big court case undertaken with sides having to prove that Picassos work could be considered equally as erotic (or not, as the case was in my response!!)
There were also framed lyrics and these really touched me as so many of them were poignant emotional responses to how much he loved his woman and how much she impacted on his life and made him the man he became. When I was a young girl working at an art school in London we had a run-in with Yoko Ono. She came into the art school and just went around everywhere putting up her posters to publisise her ‘art installation exhibition,’ which was of 100 bare bums. This was an art school with students in it who were related to Augustus John etc and was very highbrow. So I was given the job to go round the school, find the posters and tear them down, and then throw them away. As fast as I did that she came back in and put new ones up. You had to admire her determination!! So I never had much time for her I thought she was a really pushy lady. However, I think she is doing a great job of keeping our memory of this amazing man alive and also of helping us to understand his complexity and diverse talents. She said he had ideas every minute of every day and he would tell her what they were, but before he met her, he never had any thought about putting his ideas into actions. She changed that and helped him to put his ideas – however whacky – out into the public domain.
His words and work are so current, which surprises me, he was so far ahead of his time and his peace work and ‘War is over’ campaign should, I think, be the status quo now for all of us…
Before we set off on our travels I made up numerous wonderful playlists of songs for us to listen to, but as Steve is the driver dealing with all the stress of that, I always defer to him as to the selections, (also I don’t want to have to walk if I disagree.. just kidding!…) Steve loves the Beatles and anything of John Lennon’s, so this trip will always be linked in my mind to those songs and I have listened to them with new ears and found such delight in all the old favourites and Johns solo work. It’s been brilliant and the only sad thing is that some moronic person wanted to be more famous than John himself and believed that the best way to do this was to kill him. What a tragedy….
This was my most favourite quote of Johns.. in his book ‘John Lennon – one day at a time by Anthony Fawsett’ which I found for Steve in a wonderfully eccentric and eclectic bookstore in Galveston…
“All I am trying to do it make people aware that it is they themselves who have the power. It is the people themselves who must take the initiative, and especially so if the Government does not. And the way to mobilize this power is not through the use of violence… I’m often asked what I would replace all the mess with that we have now. My answer to that is.. people. Just the idea that the individual is capable of looking after himself, that we don’t need centralized government, that we don’t need father-figures and leaders and that every child is an artist until he is told he is not an artist… that every person is great until some demagogue makes him less great. Government was an invention that I think doesn’t work. I’m sure we will get there in the end. It is just a matter of under what conditions. We will not play the games of the governments. The establishment is just a name for evil. The monster doesn’t care .. the Blue Meanies (Governments) are insane. We really care about life… about people. Destruction is good enough for the Establishment. The only thing they can’t control is the mind and we have got to fight for sanity and peace on that level. You cannot change things with violence, that can only make it uglier and worse”
One of Johns favourite quotes was from Bradford Smith who said..
”There is a politic beyond politics which is concerned with the freedom of man’s mind and spirit.
It looks beyond communism and capitalism to the welfare of the human family”
As you can imagine we were in a very moved emotional state when we came out, I had been crying over some song lyrics and a very nice helper came along and spoke to me at length about the history of the lyrics. We came out and sat in a little outside café opposite the exhibition door. In Steve’s talks he gives examples of how we can change our behaviours towards each other for the better. He says about letting people out a junctions, smiling thanks for that .. things of that nature … the simple things that could make all the difference to a persons day, as the recipient of some kind energy or other. As we sat there talking about what had moved us the most, some people started to cross over the road. A couple were almost across when a car beeped them very aggressively. Either they had crossed against the lights or were not moving fast enough. The man turned to face the car driver and gave him a huge smile, put his hands together and mouthed… “Thankyou” and nodded in his direction then waved…
Steve and I burst out laughing and said what a wonderful example of how to do it differently and not reactively. As he neared us Steve hailed him and said how wonderful it had been for us watching his non-reaction and return with a loving gesture to a difficult situation. The man replied… “ I have just come out of a wonderful exhibition with a man who knew exactly what was needed for all of us and this is “Love”… it’s all we need… I have been practicing what John said for the past 30 years and it makes my life a wonderful place. Nothing was going to interfere with how this exhibit has made me feel today” We both nodded our thanks to him and Steve told him that watching his behaviour …had made our day…
I was so glad I convinced Steve to stay on to see the exhibition.
Yoko is taking the exhibition all round the country and the money raised goes to various charities. In this case a charity for the boys and girls clubs of Newport..
Back to Boston again..
I have been asked to ‘space clear’ just one area of the downstairs ‘haunted’ flat. Not to remove the ghosts but to try to dissipate some of the heavy energy, which I can feel when I move through the rooms. There is one particular room, which is so heavy that it feels like the energy when I stood on the site where the crystals are buried in the Ozarks and I felt myself sinking into the ground!
I did the work yesterday and it felt much lighter when I had finished. I was sad I was not asked to invite the ghosts to leave, as I would have liked to have been in dialogue with them if they decided to not comply!! The ghost that is fond of the little girl moves her toys around and when the little one left for her holiday she had left them in the middle of the room in a very specific order, which we made note of when we looked around. The little girl wants to know if they are going to be untouched when she gets back and they are not as they had since been moved and scattered. So I put them in another very specific order, in a circle in the middle of the floor and got Steve to photograph them. So far ‘ghosty’ has left them where they are as I suspect she knows we will photograph them again as proof that she is interacting with us as well. I have a very strong belief that all that transpires in this space where the ghost resides is on her terms – the ghost herself - and I don’t agree with that at all. I think the little girl should be left to herself. She is obviously intensely psychic and will have enough to deal with in life without a ghost’s behaviour adding to her difficulties.
On Tuesday Steve did a wonderful talk at the home of dear friends of ours from our yearly gathering in Newport. These were the faculty members of Harvard that we were so looking forward to meeting and persuading of alternate realities. Rudy is the Head of Astrophysics at Harvard and his wife Jane is the most wonderfully accomplished musician with the most exquisite operatic voice.
Their home was divine with so much diversity and history and if I had a week I probably would not have been able to take in all the little wonderments all over the place. Jane and I had a bit of a giggle once I had visited the downstairs restroom as I said …“Now Jane you know that I am going to have to write this up” to which she replied… “Annie I expected as much!!” Suffice to say that with seating area, a bookcase full of fabulous books, wonderful pictures and sayings on the wall and a divine corner unit of extremely exotic manufacture… plus the Persian rugs.. it’s probably the most innovative restroom I have ever been in. I just hate it when I have to come out because others want to come in… Don’t they know I am doing RESEARCH!!!
This was Jane’s feedback to us today…
Feedback from the lovely Jane after the talk at their house…
People were amazed at the talk.
"Brilliant" and "genius" were being thrown around by people who think they've been everywhere, done everything.
Two of the books were bought by PhD's, one an educator Steven will probably be hearing from her, and another a biologist. The young people were just so excited. It was a great event and I'm so glad you could come, though I wish I could spend more time with you.
Rudy has one of the finest brains, certainly in Boston and Harvard and probably in the world when it comes to a scientific slant on the world and the stars, but over the past few years he has expanded his viewpoint way beyond his peers as did John Mack his friend at Harvard… Both these men had undertaken to explore realities beyond the accepted normality and sciences.
Rudy undertook to present his theories on what black holes can mean to us all at Laughlin, the UFO congress that Steve took me to for my 60th birthday. His talk took in the concept of ET’s – the Higher Self – The Soul – and where the energy source for the Soul might actually reside and the life grid to which we are all connected and much.. much more.
(I would highly recommend his talk available from the UFO congress library of DVD’s.)
This intensely courageous action of speaking to such an audience about such a subject was such a huge thing for a man in his position to do. The talk was received with a standing ovation and we applaud his courage and conviction to bring about a new awareness with regards to ET life. I asked him how it was received when he got back to Harvard amongst his peers, that he was talking on this unusual subject.. He replied….”with total silence” So I can only sadly report that Rudy is a wonderful one-man-band!!
The group of people present was just lovely – obviously highly intelligent and responsive to Steve’s presentation and had some interesting questions for him at the end, in the Q and A session. What was so delightful is that there were many young people there and that is very unusual. I am looking forward now to be able to apply for talks for Steve in University situations in England once we get home. I’m sure that the fact of Steve’s US tour coupled with the fact also, of presenting to the elite of the Harvard Faculties will now open many doors for opportunities for Steve to speak.…we really want to speak to young people about what contact means for us all and all the youngsters who have been at Steve’s talks have been so receptive and open and so consciously aware…
Steve is due to do a TV interview when he speaks at the Leeds conference when we get home and we are being told that the TV presenter is already talking about Steve and his work on the programme - well in advance of even speaking with Steve face-to-face, but just from reading the book.
One woman at Rudi’s talk asked Steve the question of how did the ET’s go about teaching him things. A question, which often comes up and Steve dealt with that question. However, he said he sensed that she had a lot more questions for him. When we went out for some more sight-seeing yesterday I spoke about her and said she posed the question in a strange way. Steve replied that it was because she was an Experiencer herself. I asked if she had told Steve that and he replied that she hadn’t but he can always tell when someone is an Experiencer like himself.
We were strolling back to our car through the wonderfully delightful Boston Common, which is one of the prettiest parks I have ever sat in. We were consulting our map to find our car park .. suddenly this same woman stood in our path.
She said…”There you are, how incredible to see you here”
She went on to say that she should not have been there, but had forgotten her sunglasses and so had gone back for them, which put her directly on that path as we came along it. She was the woman from the night before.
She went on to say that as a Life Long Experiencer she had wanted to ask Steve about a specific ET which had appeared to her but did not want to ask the questions in front of all the people at the talk who might not have known she had contact experience.
She described the ET and neither Steve nor I had ever encountered such a type before in all the descriptions we have come across and in all the information I am privy to through my Forum. She also – like Steve – has had lifelong experiences, of which some have been physical but also ones where she is taken whilst out of her body…
Amazingly she said she has a 31 year old son, because she herself only looked about 40. Steve always says that ET contact makes you look really young and points out that for a 100 year old woman I look absolutely amazing for my age, all thanks to ET contact. We spoke for about 20 minutes before parting and we talked about how interesting that she really had wanted to have that dialogue with him, but was unable to do so the night before.
So energies work it out to make that conversation happen.
Then tonight’s talk was put on by a friend of our friend who is arranging all these amazing talks. It was in a beautiful house right in the country and again the group of people were extraordinary in the breadth of their awareness of the subject matter, their concentration and passion for every word Steve uttered and for every answer that he gave to their questions, which in themselves were brilliant questions. I was able to meet up with another of my Forum members who I have really looked forwards to meeting. She has been an Experiencer from a very early age like Steve and said how much she wished she could be as brave as he is to talk out in the way he is doing.
Again I was astonished to have someone come up to greet me by saying…”Ah you must be Annie, how brilliant to be able to meet you in the flesh” It is still such a shock to me that people either know me so well through the Forum or from reading Steve’s book. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the idea that people so far away from me in England know all about me on this other side of the pond. I am also so moved when they thank me for the work of support I give to him so that he can be trying to convey this important message… that ET contact is all about us.. not about them.
It was an incredibly hot night though, still unbearably hot here the heatwave shows no sign at all of letting us and people have now died through heatstroke… it’s midnight now and still over 85 degrees… The Chief of police is ringing every house, via an automated message now and saying if you do not have access to air con, something which has not been deemed necessary in New England and Boston before… then you can come to a centre set up for the emergency and just stay there until it gets cool. Last night the electricity people rang everyone to ask them to not use anything unnecessarily because of the huge strain on the power grids as people use fans and such like to try to keep cool. So far over 100 people have died from heatstroke…
Tomorrow night will be the last talk now and that will seem very strange. We would have done 5 talks in two weeks here in the Boston area, which is a lot to undertake, but which has also been so rewarding in terms of how much Steve truly believes he has been able to reach people and the books, which have been bought. Altogether he would have done more than 30 presentations and I would have sat through every single one of them to support him.
An amazing commitment on both our parts.
On our way home on the dark roads I did my usual loud cry for Steve to take care… first it was a deer running across the road and then it was something hopping and I realized it was a frog… quickly followed by another frog. I don’t know whether to keep up my vigilance in the forest/trees by the side of the road, for the deer, or keep my eyes on the path of the road for the little critters… Frogs are a new one for us… I hope they were able to find each other… certainly they reached the other side of the road unsquished because I yelled out ..”watch out!” Steve says I have to stop doing it as I nearly give him a heart attack, but I can’t help it, I see the movement and then just yell for him to take care!!
On Monday we go finally for the Gathering at Rhode Island and we are really looking forward to that and meeting up with all our dear friends there. The final two days of the trip being spent in New York before we return home.
Boston has been an absolute delight and it is such a pretty city and has such an aura of intelligence and calm assurance. (Not the car drivers though.. totally bonkers and aggressive driving) We adore NYC but this city comes in a splendid second best. In the Library yesterday we just gazed in awe at the ceiling on the third floor, a huge mass of frescos, which would not have looked out of place in a Venetian palazzo. Mary told me tonight when we were talking about it, that the daughter of a friend of hers won the opportunity to help to restore these frescos once money could be found to do so, as over the many years they had disappeared under a thick layer of grime. There were hundreds of people who volunteered to do the work. It was so hard to believe now, whilst looking at their exquisite vibrancy of colour and composition that they could have ever been allowed to get sullied. She said the girl told her that they could only clean one inch at a time and that inch could take up to an hour to do. What a labour of love and so worth it. The reading area was full of students working on their laptops and the energy of study and research was just palpable. I wanted to take out my laptop and just plug in and join that energy. Jane … bless her… reads this diary and made note of how I said I would have loved to have done a degree at Harvard so she spent a bit of time telling about the courses which I could actually take… if only…..
Strange names continued…
Smuttynose – Brewing company
I know you won’t believe this but we actually passed a Fun fair site which was called ‘The Bonkers fun house’ I love it!!
Also Mary loves a company, which deals with anything to do with cars, it is a radio show, which is called…Click and Clack .. - Dewie Cheetam and Howe (The Clappett brothers…)
And then tonight on the way home Steve made comment about a sign, which we see a lot saying… “Dense settlement”.
Nothing else .. no explanation.
So we were trying to decide if that means lots of trees and bushes creating a dense environment or just that the people are a bit bonkers and backwards in their thinking. If this is the case I think it’s a bit mean to point it out to everyone else…
Lots of love
Annie
